Indian Institute of Science
The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) was started in 1909 through the pioneering vision of J.N. Tata. Since then, it has grown into a premier institution of research and advanced instruction, with more than 2000 active researchers working in almost all frontier areas of science, technology and management. IISc is an institute of higher learning and is constantly in pursuit of excellence. It is one of the oldest and finest centers of its kind in India, and has a very high international standing in the academic world as well.
Department of Management Studies
The Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Science, established in 1948, is one of the oldest and the best management schools in the country. The Department offers an MBA programme exclusively for engineering graduates. Research programme, being the niche of the department, is offered as M Sc (Engg) and Ph.D degrees in management for full time students, to teachers from engineering colleges under Quality Improvement Programme (QIP), and to practicing professionals from industry on part time basis through External Registration Programme (ERP).
COSMAR
Consortium of Students in Management Research (COSMAR), the brainchild of Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Science, was conceptualized as a forum to promote better understanding and appreciation for the cutting-edge research done by students across the globe.
The uniqueness of COSMAR is that it provides a platform for research students to present their original research work and acquire critical and valuable inputs from an expert panel consisting of renowned academicians and practitioners in the industry.
The objectives of COSMAR are:
- To provide a quality and interaction forum for students involved in management and allied areas of research.
- To provide an opportunity for professional networking among management research students, academicians and practitioners.
- To evolve into a credible thought centre for management theorists and practitioners.
The Best three papers will be awarded with cash prizes of Rs.10,000.
